Brian "Iron Ed" Hiner, Navy SEAL Lieutenant Commander (Ret.), wrote the preface for Coach Cutler's book which is found on page 11. Eddie was a left-handed pitcher for Liberty High School in the 1980's, was selected First Team All-State, and played in the Virginia High School League All Star Game. His senior year he had a batting average of .546, which remians the highest in the 56 years of baseball at Liberty High School. After graduting from Liberty High School, Ed played baseball for the Virginia Commonwealth University and had the opporutnity to play in two College Regional World Series. After graduating from college, Ed became a Navy Seal. Upon retirement, Ed then became a best selling author.
In 2016, Ed was inducted into the Liberty High School Hall of Fame. Today, Ed is a professional coach and consultant in the area of leadership. In 2016, Retired Navy SEAL Ed Hiner honored Coach Cutler. On page 147, Coach Cutler shares about this moment and what it meant to him.
